Simon Depelchin portrait

I’m Simon. I care about how software works, and how it feels to use.

I’m a senior full-stack developer based in Belgium and the founder of Gitscape. I’ve been building web applications since 2011, with a strong focus on React, TypeScript, and frontend architecture.

At Winamp, I led a distributed frontend team of up to seven developers across five applications. A big part of that work was creating shared architecture, a design system, and tooling that helped people move between projects more easily.

Today, I lead frontend development at Azerion across audio and creator platforms, including Targetspot Passport and Shoutcast. I’m also building a podcast hosting and monetization platform with the product and engineering teams.

My consulting work has taken me into healthcare, industrial processes, restaurant ordering, and community platforms. I enjoy understanding how a business operates and turning that into software people can actually use.

I work best in small, collaborative teams with room to take ownership. I care about intuitive interfaces, useful tests, and code that the next developer can understand. Outside client work, I share examples, starter projects, and notes on what I learn.

I’m based in Belgium and work in English and French. If you’d like to discuss a product or a technical challenge, get in touch.
